Douglas Richardson's Story

Construction Experience

Since Doug was very small, he loved to hang around the construction site with his grandfather. His grandfather was a 1st generation italian immigrant stone-mason. When he was old enough , Doug would set his sights on becoming a seasoned Construction Project Manager. Throug high school and college , Doug had many laborous positions to gain experience in the trades of construction. These jobs included Lanscaping and Construction for the Berks County Parks Department and Concrete Finisher for a company called Berkshire Building Services. Doug worked his way through High School and College in multiple different positions in both construction and in the food service industry. This allowed Doug to learned a lot about customer service and would later help him as a Project Manager gain the respect of his peers and workers.

Late Construction Experience

Before he left college, Doug made construction drawings and did miscelenous tasks for a small time residential builder in Cheltenham PA. After College, he made many leaps as a young entreprenuerial construction manager, working in for a contractor specializing in Hospital construction. 

Freelance Developer Experience

During his time, Doug would come home after a long day of construction management and teach himself programming. Spending hours a day programming and learning web development, Doug received many small jobs creating static HTML websites and building small Wix based websites. Doug also spent his time creating creating many web development tools such as a wrapper around jQuery and Bootsrap called ActionPrettyJs.

Professional Developer Experience

In his current professional career, Doug is a Senior Web Developer for a major marketing firm. Doug handles everything from security, design, email, and everything inbetween. He works with 100+ website clients. Doug handles all of the server administration tasks, creates installations and database setups for websites, DNS management, email management and security implementations. As a secondary part of Doug’s position, he does API integration, he has created certain software’s in web scraping for the company, as well Doug also handle’s some of the more functional Front-End development items.
